Abstract: | The present study is an attempt to trace the role played by Chalilakath Kunchahammed Haji as a social reformer in Malabar. Education has always been an indispensable instrument for the socio-economic development of a country. Revival and Reformation are mostly debated in religious and cultural circles today. Especially the Islamic Reformation and Islamic Renaissance. Beginning with Islamic revival, in modern Islamic literature and media, similar expressions such as Annahdat al-Islamiyyah, Tajdeed, Islah, Assahwatul Islamiyyah in Arabic, and Islamic Revival, Islamic Renewal, Islamic Reform, and Islamic Renaissance in English are used synonymously, and the principle and application of these metaphors fuel new interpretations and debates. It seems that the thought and investigation of Maulana Chalilakat Kunjahammad Haji (1866-1919), a philosopher of the period, has relevance and potential. He is the foremost leader who put forward a scientific formula to advance the Kerala Muslim religious and Education sector |
