dc.description.abstract Mixed ligand complexes of Ln(III) ions {La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Er(III) and Dy(III)} with [LnL3(H2O)2] stoichiometry have been synthesized by the reaction of lanthanide nitrates with three synthetic curcuminoid analogues (HL) derived from acetylacetone and aromatic aldehydes (benzaldehyde, cinnamaldehyde and furfural). Analytical, UV, IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral data revealed that in all metal complexes the curcuminoid analogues behave as monobasic bidentate and the complexation occurs by the replacement of intramolecularly hydrogen bonded enolic proton by Ln(III) ion. en_US
